Casting, Bandaging and Thumb Inclusion for Scaphoid Fractures: A Multicenter Randomized Trial and a Systematic Review

Two 2025 papers examined the two immobilization decisions that come up most often in wrist and hand care: whether a cast is needed while a scaphoid fracture is only suspected, and whether the thumb needs to be included once a non-displaced fracture is confirmed and managed without surgery. This course reports what each paper studied, what it found, and how certain its authors were.
